Building on Michigan’s existing framework for data center development, the pledge includes commitments by signatories to help ensure Michiganders do not face higher energy costs; require developers to secure new energy resources to meet demand; fund necessary energy infrastructure upgrades; comply with environmental laws; prioritize local hiring and workforce development; and operate with transparency in both project development and community investment. These commitments align closely with the Cloverleaf Standard, the Company’s approach to development, which emphasizes transparency, local investment, responsible development and ensuring projects support long-term economic growth and community benefit.

“We believe essential infrastructure should deliver lasting value to the communities that host it, and this pledge reflects our commitment to responsible development that is at the heart of the Cloverleaf Standard,” said David Berry, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cloverleaf. “Our goal is to ensure the communities where we operate benefit from new jobs, infrastructure investment, environmental stewardship and long-term economic opportunities. We are proud to support this initiative that advances those shared priorities for Michigan residents.”

Cloverleaf’s projects are positioned to generate significant economic benefits for local communities, creating millions of dollars in tax revenue to support schools, infrastructure, first responders and other public services. They are expected to create substantial employment opportunities, including construction jobs and permanent operational roles at each site. To deliver additional community benefits, Cloverleaf invests directly in local priorities through workforce development, educational initiatives, charitable partnerships and programs that help lower household energy costs.
