Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Aug 31, 2026 (Issuewire.com) Copper Intelligence Inc. (OTCID: CUAI), a U.S.-publicly traded copper exploration and development company focused on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is highlighting recent corporate progress as global copper prices continue to trade near all-time highs.

Copper futures on COMEX have surged to record levels in 2026, touching an intraday all-time high of roughly $6.90 per pound in early August before settling in a range near $6.50$6.70 per pound a rally analysts attribute to surging demand from artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, electrification, and constrained global mine supply. London Metal Exchange copper has likewise pushed toward record territory above $14,300 per metric ton.

Against this backdrop, Copper Intelligence continues to advance its DRC copper portfolio. On August 27, 2026, Chairman Andrew Groves and President Alan Kessler presented at the Clean Energy & Metals Virtual Investor Conference hosted by VirtualInvestorConferences.com, providing a corporate update and progress report on drilling at the company’s flagship Butembo copper project in Eastern Congo.

The presentation followed the company’s mid-August announcement of new drill core data from Butembo, where drilling has been extended along strike to test the continuity and scale of mineralization. Additional drill holes (8 through 11) were expected to yield results by the end of August 2026.

Beyond Butembo, Copper Intelligence has diversified its DRC footprint with the acquisition of the Kitungu Exploration License (PR-15880) in the Copper Belt of southern DRC, and a strategic joint venture with CoTec Holdings Corp. of Canada focused on processing historical copper tailings in the country. The DRC accounts for roughly 65% of newly announced global copper reserves, and Copper Intelligence positions itself as the first stand-alone, DRC-focused copper company publicly traded in the United States.

The company’s activities also align with a July 2026 U.S. Executive Order, “Securing America’s Defense Supply Chains and Ensuring Domestic Acquisition of Critical Materials,” which encourages greater reliance on domestic and allied sources of critical minerals, including copper, and reduced dependence on adversarial supply chains.

“Copper has become one of the most strategic commodities of the modern economy, underpinning electrification, renewable energy, electric vehicles, AI infrastructure, data centers, and defense technologies,” the company noted, pointing to rising demand and constrained new supply as key tailwinds for its DRC-focused strategy.
