Sicily home in Harris Ridge
Located in Harris Ridge in the Boise Foothills, the 3,973-square-foot home received an Award of Merit in the Best Single-Family Detached Home from 3,500 to 4,000 Square Feet category.
The Gold Nugget Awards have celebrated excellence in residential architecture, planning and development since 1963, making the program one of the country’s longest-running residential design competitions. Boise Hunter Homes was the only Idaho builder to receive an award in a competition that drew more than 800 entries nationwide.
“This recognition reflects the level of architecture we set out to bring to Harris Ridge,” said Travis Hunter, founder and CEO of Boise Hunter Homes.“ The Sicily is visually distinct, with a mid-century modern-inspired exterior and signature butterfly roof.”
Inside, the floorplan was designed around multigenerational living, with a private 468 sqft. accessory dwelling unit (ADU) that includes its own entrance, bedroom, living area and dedicated garage bay. An interior courtyard links the suite to the main residence and provides living areas with natural light and access to outdoor space.
“The goal was to create a home that could support multiple generations without making either living area feel secondary,” said Woodley. “The courtyard connects the home while giving each space its own sense of privacy and independence.”
