Kate Schuelke, Executive Advisor, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati
Schuelke brings 25 years of experience as a C-suite executive and public company director in the technology industry. She spent 20 years at Altera Corporation, a fabless semiconductor company, ultimately serving as senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary, and helping negotiate the company’s $16.7 billion acquisition by Intel Corporation. She later spent six years as senior vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at Seagate Technology, where she led an organization of more than 300 professionals across legal, compliance, government affairs, and global trust and security. Most recently, she served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary of Credo Technology Group, a publicly traded company serving the rapidly growing artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure market.
Throughout her career, Schuelke has advised senior executives and boards through periods of rapid growth, economic disruptions, cybersecurity incidents, significant litigation, government and internal investigations, and business-critical transactions. Her background in risk and oversight spans corporate governance, enterprise risk management, executive compensation, internal audit, government affairs, and global security. Her transactional and regulatory experience includes M&A, technology licensing, export compliance, AI and data governance, cybersecurity, supply chain resilience, antitrust compliance, and international operations.
In addition to her executive experience, Schuelke has served on the board of the semiconductor company SiTime Corporation since 2019, where she chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and serves on the Compensation and Talent Committee. Her boardroom service gives her a practical understanding of how directors evaluate risk, challenge management, and make decisions under pressure.
“What makes Kate particularly valuable is the perspective she brings to the moments when there is no obvious playbook,” said Katie Martin, a corporate partner and former chair of Wilson Sonsini’s board of directors. “She has spent her career helping companies make consequential decisions when the facts are evolving, the stakes are high, and different priorities are pulling in different directions. Clients will benefit from having someone who can ask the right questions, pressure-test a decision, and help leadership teams move forward with greater clarity and confidence.”
Schuelke joins advisors Meredith Krannich and Ken Siegel and consultant Raj Mahapatra as part of Wilson Sonsini’s EAP. The program provides clients with experience-based, actionable, and business-focused advice from former senior executives and general counsel. EAP supports companies at every stage, from high-growth start-ups and late-stage companies preparing for an initial public offering to multinational public companies, as well as organizations with emerging or established in-house legal teams.
“Leaders rarely face challenges that fit neatly into a single box,” said Schuelke. “Having been a chief legal officer, a technology company executive, and a corporate board member, I’ve learned to look at issues from many angles. I’m delighted to join Wilson Sonsini and bring that perspective to helping clients navigate their most complex and important business decisions.”
Schuelke is a certified director of the National Association of Corporate Directors and serves on the board of the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.S. from the University at Buffalo.
