Temecula, CA September 09, 2026 –(PR.com)– Hodson P.I., LLC, a professional investigative firm headquartered in Southern California, is proud to announce Melissa Chai as the first recipient of the Hodson Truth & Integrity Scholarship, a national scholarship created to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, accountability, and a commitment to making a positive difference in their communities.
Chai was selected following a competitive application process that attracted nearly 50 students from across the United States. Her record of leadership, advocacy, and service distinguished her among an impressive group of applicants. From representing thousands of students to creating opportunities for others in her community, Chai has consistently demonstrated a willingness to use her voice and talents in service of those around her.
The Hodson Truth & Integrity Scholarship was established by Hodson P.I. to support the next generation of professionals who understand that integrity is not simply a professional expectation—it is a personal commitment.
“As investigators, our profession is built around finding and protecting the truth, but this scholarship is about something even bigger,” said Justin D. Hodson, CPI, founder and president of Hodson P.I. “It is about recognizing young people who choose honesty, accountability, leadership, and service even when those choices are not necessarily the easiest ones. Melissa represents exactly what we hoped to find when we created this scholarship.”
The scholarship was initially created with a minimum award of $2,500. However, the quality of the inaugural applicant pool led Hodson P.I. to expand its plans.
“We received nearly 50 applications, and reading these students’ stories made it incredibly difficult to recognize only one person,” Hodson said. “There were students doing extraordinary things in their schools, families, and communities. We ultimately decided that our first year shouldn’t end with just one scholarship.”
Hodson P.I. will therefore award two additional scholarships to exceptional applicants from the 2026 program. The recipients will be announced individually in the coming weeks, allowing the company to share each student’s story and accomplishments.
The selection process was conducted with the assistance of an independent scholarship committee whose members dedicated their time and professional experience to reviewing the applications. Hodson P.I. extends its appreciation to Rachel Boden, Bianca Carranco, Nicole Cusanelli, Diane Douglas, AJ Nigro, Alison Peacock, JD, CPI, LeeAnn Plogger, and Gordon Swaim for their thoughtful participation in the inaugural selection process.
For Hodson, who founded Hodson P.I. in 2003, the scholarship is intended to become more than a one-time award.
