Independent charity evaluator, Giving Green, cites Project InnerSpace’s leadership in accelerating next-generation geothermal energy worldwide as key driver of organizational impact
BOSTON, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Project InnerSpace, the leading independent non-profit dedicated to the global development of next-generation geothermal energy, has been recognized among the world’s five most effective organizations driving long-term systemic change for the fourth consecutive year, again earning a spot on Giving Green’s highly selective Top Climate Nonprofits of 2026-2027 list.
Project InnerSpace is a focused research organization (FRO) advancing science to remove the major barriers that stand in the way of scaled global development of geothermal energy by the end of this decade. In its evaluation, Giving Green recognizes Project InnerSpace’s influence in the geothermal sector and ability to turn big visions into on-the-ground execution.
In its report, Giving Green says it has been “impressed by the number of wins and connections [Project InnerSpace] has built” over its short history, that Project InnerSpace has “a bold plan to reduce financial risks for new geothermal projects” and that its technical expertise allows Project InnerSpace to “influence capital well beyond its own budget.” Giving Green also pointed to Project InnerSpace’s strategic focus on states and regions with strong geothermal potential, existing oil and gas expertise, and fast-growing energy demand as a theory of change with a high likelihood of success.
“When we began our journey as a scrappy startup charity, we set out to remove barriers to growth in geothermal energy. In practice, what that meant was building a much bigger tent where new and innovative voices felt welcome, where new sources of capital could engage, and where new entities and technologies could thrive,” said Jamie Beard, Founder and Executive Director of Project InnerSpace. “We are excited every day to see how building a foundation for growth leads to exponential returns, and are honored that our theory of change has been recognized once more for catalyzing that kind of change in the world.”
In addition to Giving Green’s recognition, Project InnerSpace has been recognized historically by organizations like Founders Pledge and Vox for the impact of its work, and continues to hold the highest rating of four stars by Charity Navigator. Project InnerSpace was also featured by PBS this year in its “Resolve to Solve” series, which recognized Project InnerSpace’s Founder and Executive Director for embodying the pioneering spirit of ‘Johnny Appleseed’ in catalyzing the next-generation geothermal ecosystem.
Project InnerSpace is independent, non-partisan, and technology-agnostic. If you are interested in becoming a partner through a tax-deductible donation this giving season, please visit www.projectinnerspace.org/donate.
